I have been having a bad month. I have a daughter that I parent, Marie
who will be 5 in June. I also have a daughter who I gave up for adoption,
Makayla who will be 1 next week. I have nothing but guilt and I can't seem to
move on. I don't want to forget but I would like to live. I've been just going
through the motions of life for almost a year. I am also filled with regret
because I just found out I may never be able to have anymore children. I am
beside myself. I'm just looking for someone to talk to who understands please...

Hello, My name is Michelle, i am a birth mom and an adoptee. My daughter Megan, and my birth son, name by birth Joshua, share the same father. He died not to long ago and it has been very hard on me. At one time, he was my best friend. My first child was Megan. She was not planned and he was a terrible alcoholic,so i decided to put her up for adoption. Well, after her being at catholic charities for 8 days, i changed my mind. I went and picked her up. Then, her Father sobered up, and I wanted to have another baby, well, i ended up pregnant again, but by this time, he was already drinking again. He had put my life,
Megans life and the life of my unborn baby in danger. That is when i knew he would never stop. And i was right, he never stopped and he died. But after i left him, i ended up with nothing. So I went to save-a-life, and exspained everything, and that is when we decided on adoption for my 2nd child. I used to have no regrets, but now what i regret is not having an open adoption. My birth son will 18 in 1 year and 1/2. I hope he looks for me, because there has not been a day that i havn't thought about him, and i have and always will; love him. Well, thats about it except that i have been reunited with ALL of my birth family since 1993-94. And it has been a blessing. love and peace, Michelle Weatherby

Hi Everyone, My name is christine and i'm a new member here. I had a baby boy May 23 of this past year and he was with me for 8 weeks before I realized that due to several mental disorders I did not want him to live thru what I was livign thru. Even with medication life is a struggle. Micah went to live with a wonderful family. I chose open adoption and I'm so glad I did. There are times I regret the decision but I also think that I would regret even more not allowing micah to grow up in a stable loving family. This is such a healing process and I'm now trying to make time my friend. I'm waiting for the day I will wake up and say "I'm going to be ok". I know that will come and have to be patient. My brother told me this when he heard I had place micah for adoption"christine,I cannot think of any other word to describe just what kind of person you are to have done this and that word stands out above all other words, you are special".I now realize just how special I'! m to have done this. I hope that all the birthmothers who read this will realize just how"Special" you are. clambert05@yahoo.com

Michelle Weatherb abby.fears@yahoo.com comment: Hi everyone, I am a birthmother and an adoptee, so i do know how both ends feel. I am now 41, my birthson will be 16 june 25th. Hopefully we will reunite and i can introduce him to MY birth family. I found them over 10 years ago and it was a blissfull reunion. It had it's difficult moments, but they were all surpassed by our growing love for one another. Not all reunions work out as everyone knows, but I was one of the lucky ones, and Gods hand in all of this was evident. I have a very large birth family(CATHOLICS) lol. They LOVE to reproduce, lol. I had a very tough life growing up and spent 9 years in therapy. I have since overcome all the hard ships that came my way. Giving up my child was not difficult for me like it is for most Mothers. I knew that the decision i was making was the right one, and I also knew, that I HAD to do it to ensure his safty, and my daughters. She was little at the time and in order to take proper care of her, i knew that i had to do it. ! Making the right decision brought me peace. I live life to the fullest, and i am bubbly, happy, a peacemaker, but i am also a person that will now take any bull off anyone, and therefore I ALWAYS stand by my friends. I wish love and happiness to you all, and if anyone wants to chat, feel free to e-mail me. I'm just a down home girl from Alabama, much love and peace, Michelle state?: Alabama
